At bem, we talk a lot about "deterministic data" and "rigid infrastructure." We spend our days obsessing over schema validation, error rates, and 99.999% precision. But companies aren't just built on code; they are built on values and people.

Today, I’m proud to share that BuenTrip Ventures has joined our Seed syndicate as a strategic investor.

For me, this partnership is deeply personal. I am originally from Spain, and while I’ve called California home for many years, I spent my most formative teenage years in Ecuador. It is a place that shaped much of how I view resilience and community. The ecosystem BuenTrip has spent over a decade building in Ecuador and Latin America is defined by a specific kind of grit, a drive to solve real problems with limited resources, to innovate out of necessity, not just for novelty.

Shared DNA: The Deterministic Future

I’ve known the BuenTrip team for years and have been a proud member of their community for a long time. I’ve always admired their clarity of thought. They aren’t just investors; they are operators who understand the nuts and bolts of building.

We align perfectly on the critical challenge facing B2B product teams today: the painful shift from deterministic software to probabilistic systems. We both believe that while AI agents can plan and act like a junior collaborator, they often "hallucinate with total confidence." That exact problem is why bem exists.

Upal and I have been down this road before. This isn't our first rodeo. At this stage, we know exactly what we want, and it isn't just capital for the sake of capital. We are looking for sophisticated investors who truly understand the deep technical reality of the business we are building and the specific problem space we are after.

Having them on our cap table is a delight because they fit that mold perfectly. BuenTrip understands that for AI to be useful in emerging markets, and globally, it cannot be a probabilistic gamble. It has to be reliable. It has to be auditable. It has to be boringly accurate.

Why This Matters Now

As bem has grown rapidly over the last year, processing millions of documents for enterprises across the US, we’ve realized that the problem of unstructured data is universal. Supply chains in LatAm face the same chaos as logistics firms in the Midwest. Financial institutions in Quito need the same auditability as banks in New York.

Adding BuenTrip to our investor base is a signal of our global ambition. We believe the next generation of software won't just be built in Silicon Valley for Silicon Valley; it will be infrastructure that serves the world.

We are keeping our heads down and building, but we have more to share soon regarding our global availability and expansion. For now, I just want to say gracias to the BuenTrip team for backing our vision of a deterministic future.

Here’s to building the infrastructure that powers the next decade, from the Bay Area to the Andes and beyond.
